Journey to Oshin's Homeland Part 1: Yamadera

A world famous Japanese TV drama /”Oshin/” was set in Yamagata Prefecture. Win Morisaki, an actor from Myanmar visits the places where the drama was shot.

The history of Risshakuji Temple stretches back over a millennium. Visitors must climb 1,015 steps to the summit of a steep mountain slope along a path lined with temples of various sizes. Win offered a prayer at the Inextinguishable Dharma Light, a fire that has burned for 1,200 years, and is left spellbound at the breathtaking view that looks just like an ink painting.
